With more of us working from home than ever before, it’s easy to feel isolated. Isolation is in direct opposition with motivation and productivity – a team that feels disconnected and unsupported is not going to be a productive one.
It feels exposing to have to ask a colleague if they can do a Zoom call to show you how to add segments to an email list, whereas you probably wouldn’t have thought twice about tapping them on the shoulder in the office. This lack of support can make your team’s confidence in their abilities fall fast and impact on self-esteem.
Low confidence at work more often than not links to a lack of training. If a team member doesn’t have the tools they need to use their complicated software, they’re more likely to put tasks off, find it harder to get into a good flow because they’re having to shift their focus to watch insufficient how-tos online, and ultimately – be less productive.
